Lua and Roblox Luau use separate processing paths. Lua mode uses the VM compiler only for its supported subset; Luau mode preserves Luau-specific syntax using lexical obfuscation. Neither mode guarantees complete AST-level obfuscation for every language feature. Always test output in the exact target runtime.
